From Forbes: Internships are the New Ivy League Degrees

“The value of an internship has skyrocketed in the past decade while the perceived value of a college degree has plummeted. And while the availability of seats at undergraduate colleges remains consistently higher than demand (as witnessed by frequent college closings), the opposite is true for internships. Last year, 8.2 million college students sought an internship, but only 3.6 million were successful in obtaining one. And there’s evidence the gap is growing with internship postings down 17.5% last year.”
